General Ripper bio

General Ripper is Cameron Bauer, 25, of Frederick Co., MD. The name "General Ripper" comes from a character in the film "Dr. Strangelove, Or; How I learned to Stop worrying and love the bomb." The fictional character's battle against "the evil communist plot of fluoridation" presented itself as a metaphor to Cameron, one that we're all familiar with, one that each of us enacts daily. General Ripper's fight against fluoride is parallel to our own struggles with life and the pursuit of happiness, and often it is difficult to think objectively about our own existence and the implications therin. Therefore, negative aspects of existence and humanity, things that suck, to put it simply, are the proverbial Fluoride. General Ripper, the fictional character and Cameron Bauer, have each devoted their existence to the complete and total annihilation of Fluoride, by any means necessary, for the ultimate good of both himself and his fellow man. Fluoride, in the case of Cameron Bauer, represents such things as bad music, lame art, stupid philosophies, and vacuous non-culture. It is therefore his mission to bring you the best and the finest, the non-fluoridated.

Cameron, also a visual artist, is a prominent figure in the Frederick art scene, having been featured in three articles in two local papers in the past year for his painting. He has been djing and making original music since 2006, and is quite happy to be joining the Nem Live Productions team.
